Openmost vs Savigny.
Choose the scope you need.
Both connect Matomo to AI assistants. Start with the reports you need and whether the assistant should also change configuration.
The short answer
Evaluate Savigny when your job is a focused traffic briefing: visits, leading pages, channels, referrals and countries. Evaluate Openmost when you need broader report access or want the assistant to manage Matomo configuration and Tag Manager.
These are workflow recommendations, not a measured performance ranking. OAuth, hosting and avoiding a Matomo plugin are shared features. They are not reasons by themselves to choose one over the other.

|---|---|---|
| Core reporting scope | Seven read-only tools for website discovery and traffic reports. | Broad Reporting API access, including generic API calls. [1] |

| Before choosing | Check the tool reference and try the public demo. | Confirm the needed tools, access and commercial terms with Openmost. |
When Savigny fits
Your existing Matomo is reachable publicly over HTTPS, and you want to ask an assistant about traffic without enabling configuration changes. Connect the instance, select websites and authorize a compatible client. You can also use chat in the Savigny dashboard.
Current MCP tools do not expose goals, conversions, ecommerce, events, custom segments or arbitrary API methods. They do not send scheduled emails. If those are required, evaluate another route before choosing. See the exact tool reference.
When Openmost fits
Openmost documents a wider MCP surface and a broader Matomo product suite. That makes it worth evaluating for jobs beyond traffic summaries. Review its available permissions and tool controls against your own requirements. Its separate in-Matomo AI plugins are a further option; they are distinct from its hosted MCP service.
Do not rely on older local-client setup instructions as the description of its current hosted product. Openmost now documents a remote OAuth workflow.
What about price, privacy and speed?
Check Savigny’s current pricing and request Openmost’s applicable commercial terms. This page does not claim that one service is cheaper. No like-for-like latency test has been performed, so it does not claim that either is faster.
For either service, review credential handling, data processing and the AI provider receiving report results. Hosted MCP adds a service to the data path. A read-only tool set prevents configuration writes through those tools; it does not make report data nonsensitive.
Run the same acceptance test
- Select the intended Matomo website explicitly.
- Compare two completed weeks using the website timezone.
- Ask for visits, channels and leading pages with original figures.
- Check the answer in Matomo and inspect any unavailable metrics.
- Test one task unique to your requirements before committing.
